Today, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the funeral of Kim Friele in Oslo.
Kim Friele was the first woman to come out as a lesbian publicly in Norway and her work was a strong contributor to the penal code criminalizing homosexual acts being repealed in 1972, and homosexuality being abolished as a psychiatric diagnosis in 1978. May she rest in peace.
