Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia presided over the ceremony of the 2018 National Sports Awards at the Royal Palace in Madrid. The winners of the 2018 awards were decided in February 2019 by the jury of the National Sports Awards.

The awards aim to recognize the people who have made an outstanding contribution to promote sports either as individuals or as teams. The 2018 winners include Alejandro Valverde, Regino Hernández, Joana Pastrana, Ana Carrasco, and the Under 17 Spanish Women's Football Team among others.

Queen Letizia wore a black knit top with her Massimo Dutti pleated skirt and her Manolo Blahnik black pumps. She also wore new earrings by Rod Almayata (with thanks to Nuria Tiborcio) and her Karen Hallam gold ring.
