Queen Letizia officially opens the World Blindness Summit Madrid 2021

Today, Queen Letizia presided over the opening ceremony of the “World Blindness Summit Madrid 2021”. More than 4,000 people from 190 countries will participate in person and online in the summit. The summit is a joint initiative by the World Blind Union and the International Council for the Education of People with Visual Disabilities.

In her speech, Queen Letizia said: “There is not a single relevant matter that this summit, this meeting, is not going to deal with: inclusion, employment, innovation and transformation, accessible and usable technologies, leisure, culture, sport, mobility, the full participation of people with blindness, visually impaired and multiple disabilities in all the aspects that affect their vital development.”

Queen Letizia wore her Victoria Beckham leopard printed shirt and skirt with her Carolina Herrera red slingback pumps and her Karen Hallam gold ring.
