Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit celebrate the 250th anniversary of Hans Nielsen Hauge's birth
Today, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were in Fredrikstad to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Hans Nielsen Hauge's birth. Hans Nielsen Hauge was a lay preacher, industrial entrepreneur, and community builder born in Fredrikstad.
The couple first visited the field where Hans Nielsen Hauge had his spiritual awakening before opening the Hans Nielsen Hauge's Memorial center.
After the official opening, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit toured the center to learn more about Hans Nielsen Hauge’s life and work.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit concluded their visit to Fredrikstad by visiting the Hope Cathedral which is “an environmentally sustainable project symbolizing the creation of hope through cooperation and reminding us that we are able to transform evil to good.” It will be formally opened on June 5th and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will take part in the opening digitally.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her Pia Tjelta printed dress with her Christian Louboutin ballet flats and a new clutch by Cult Gaia. She also wore her Saint Laurent sunglasses.
