Queen Maxima attends events in Amsterdam and Deventer
Today, Queen Maxima attended two events in Amsterdam and Deventer. She first attended the opening of the national supercomputer Snellius which offers ten times the computing power of its predecessor and is suitable for all fields of science and uses water cooling technology.
The new technology reduces energy consumption and at the same time increases performance. Snellius will be located in the Amsterdam Data Tower at Amsterdam Science Park, just like the current supercomputer Cartesius.
Afterward, Queen Maxima went to Deventer as she visited the Friends' Services Foundation. The organization is the winner of one of the three Appeltjes van Oranje 2021 Prizes of the Oranje Fonds. The Friends Services Foundation received the prize for their self-management centers for people with psychological vulnerability.
During her visit, Queen Maxima spoke with the founders as well as with the employees and partnering organizations to learn more about how the centers were created, their activities, and their development.
She also talked with visitors of the centers to hear about their experience and how the centers allowed them to build a network and a safety net.
Queen Maxima wore a repeated Natan jacket, top, and trousers with her Salvatore Ferragamo pumps and Sophie Habsburg clutch. She also wore her Fabienne Delvigne flower headpiece.
