King Felipe and Queen Letizia inaugurate Botton-Champalimaud Pancreatic Cancer Center in Portugal

Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia were in Lisbon, Portugal to inaugurate the Botton-Champalimaud Pancreatic Cancer Center which is the first institution in the world dedicated to the research and treatment of pancreatic cancer.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia were first received by the President of Portugal for a private lunch.

Afterward, they attended the ceremony marking the inauguration of the Center. In his speech, King Felipe said: “While it is clear that research is key against cancer, so is collaboration itself. We are sure that all the findings that are carried out by researchers and doctors in this center which we inaugurate today in Lisbon, will be shared with their counterparts in Spain and the rest of the EU.”

After the ceremony, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, and the President of Portugal toured the facilities. 

Queen Letizia wore her Emporio Armani polka dot dress with her Manolo Blahnik pumps and her Nina Ricci bag. She also wore her Karen Hallam gold ring.
