Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attends "Children in Armed Conflict" International Conference
On Monday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the International Conference about Children in Armed Conflict organized by the Universities Network for Children in Armed Conflict.
In her speech, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa said: “The United Nations Security Council approved resolution 2601 on the right to education in war zones, but nothing has changed. In Afghanistan, the Taliban suppressed 20 years of progress for women in one year. In Ukraine, 1,800 schools were bombed. In Mali, a quarter of schools in conflict zones are unusable. And attacks on schools are increasing in many other countries. I will continue to appeal to the international community to constantly support the unconditional right of all children to access school in complete safety.”
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa also met with Virginia Gamba, the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and the UNICEF’s Eminent Advocate for Children.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a Maison Rabih Kayrouz jacket over her Zadig & Voltaire blouse and a black skirt. She paired the outfit with her Prada pumps, her Louis Vuitton bag, and her Charlotte Chesnais earrings.
