Queen Maxima visits The Social Kruidenier and "Our Colonial Inheritance" exhibition
On Tuesday, Queen Maxima attended two events in Amsterdam.
She first visited The Social Kruidenier which is a supermarket and a meeting place. Members of Amsterdam’s Food Banks can buy non-food and long-lasting products at a small price and they can share a moment together and receive low-threshold financial advice.
Queen Maxima met with the staff and customers to learn more about the project. The Social Kruidenier is supported by the Oranje Fonds of which King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima are Patron.
Afterward, Queen Maxima saw the “Our Colonial Inheritance” exhibition at the Tropen Museum.
The exhibition focused on Dutch colonial history in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, Indonesia, and Suriname. There are ten themes that provide insight into how colonialism helped shape today's world and how people endured the system.
Queen Maxima wore her Natan Couture outfit with her Gianvito Rossi boots, her Susan Gail bag, and a Seaman Schepps bracelet (with thanks to ModeKoninginMaxima).
