The Prince and Princess of Wales visit Boston - Day 3
On Friday, the Prince and Princess of Wales spent their third and last day in Boston for the Earthshot Prize.
The Prince and Princess of Wales started the day with solo engagements. The Princess of Wales visited the Harvard University Center on the Developing Child.
The Harvard Center has previously collaborated with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The Princess of Wales met with experts and researchers to discuss how “the advances in science can be harnessed to achieve a promising future for every child.”
In the evening, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the 2022 Earthshot Prize. The Earthshot Prizes aim to “incentivize change and inspire collective action around our unique ability to innovate, problem-solve, and ultimately repair our planet over the next ten years.” The winners will receive £1 million each.
Ellie Goulding, Chloe x Halle, Billie Eilish, and Annie Lennox performed during the ceremony while the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine O’Hara, Rami Malek, Shailene Woodley, and David Beckham announced the winners.
This year’s winners are Indigenous Women of the Great Barrier Reef from Australia (Revive Our Oceans), Mukuru Clean Stoves from Kenya (Clean Our Air), 44.01 from Oman (Fix Our Climate), Notpla from the United Kingdom (Build a Waste-Free World), and Kheyti from India (Protect and Restore Nature).
The Princess of Wales wore an Emilia Wickstead dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and a Mulberry bag. She also wore new bespoke earrings by Lenique Louis.
In the evening, the Princess of Wales wore a dress from Solace London which she rented via HURR which she paired with her Gianvito Rossi pumps. She also wore Asprey London earrings (with thanks to Vanessa) and Queen Mary’s Emerald Choker.
