Crown Princess Mary gave an interview to the Financial Times ahead of her 50th birthday on Sunday.

In the interview, Crown Princess Mary reflected on the monarchy. She said: “A monarchy exists in the time and the society that it is a part of, and Danes are progressive and innovative and free-thinking. How progress happens is dependent on the personalities of the people within the royal family, and, of course, the people they are among.” She said she considers the monarchy to be a unifying body.

Crown Princess Mary also discussed the causes she supports and how she adapted to her new life in Denmark. She also talked about her children and how she views her role as Crown Princess.

For the cover, Crown Princess Mary wore a white blouse and white trousers. She paired the outfit with a pearl necklace, her Rebekka Notkin necklace, and her Cartier bracelet.

For her second outfit, Crown Princess Mary wore a new Jenny Packham gown with her Prada pumps and her Cartier bracelet.

Finally, Crown Princess Mary wore a new Temperley London suit with her Gianvito Rossi pumps, her Cartier bracelet, and the necklace from the Ruby Parure.
