The Countess of Wessex attends International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness Reception

On Wednesday evening, the Countess of Wessex attended the “Vision for the Commonwealth” reception hosted by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness of which she is a Global Ambassador.

“Vision for the Commonwealth” aims to have sight tests, affordable glasses, and other treatments for all children by 2030. The initiative also raises awareness of how education and vision are linked and essential to unlock a child’s potential.

The Countess of Wessex made a speech during the event in which she stressed the importance of working together and the links between child eye health and education.

The Countess of Wessex also presented the inaugural Love Your Eyes Campaigner of the Year Award to Lowri Moore. She was recognized for her efforts in “advocating for young glasses wearers to have positive representation in the media.”
