Belgian State Visit to Democratic Republic of the Congo - Day 6

Today, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde spent their sixth day in Congo as part of their week-long state visit. It was their last full day of events as they will depart the country on Monday morning.

The Royal Couple spent the day in Bukavu where they visited the Panzi Hospital which specializes in gynecological care for victims of rape and sexual abuse.

They met with Dr Denis Mukwege who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 for his work with survivors of sexual abuse in war zones.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde met patients and staff to hear about their stories.

Afterward, they visited the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture to learn more about how they work to increase food security, reduce rural poverty, and introduce sustainable management of natural resources.

Queen Mathilde wore a Natan top with Natan trousers (with thanks to ModeKoninginMathilde) with new Castaner wedges. She paired the outfit with her Longchamp sunglasses and Rolex watch.
