Crown Princess Victoria hands over Älvsborg's amphibious regiment's new flag

On Friday, Crown Princess Victoria was in Gothenburg as she handed over a new flag to Älvsborg's amphibious regiment (Amf 4) on behalf of the King.

It was Crown Princess Victoria’s first flag presentation and in her speech, she said: “The armed forces manage a number of traditions, which in themselves constitute an important part of Sweden's cultural heritage. The main symbol of a regiment is its flag. In front of it, soldiers gathered and pledged to honor and protect our country. The banner represents the connection and binds the past with the present. […]This symbol binds you to generations before you and will inspire future generations. Wear it with pride and let it remind you of the importance of your task, to defend our values, our country, and its inhabitants.”

During her visit, Crown Princess Victoria also met with the garrison's conscripts, employees, and relatives who attended "Garrison's Day".

She also visited the Armed Forces' Defense Medicine Center. Crown Princess Victoria re-established the regiment on behalf of the King in October 2021.
