Swedish Royals attend Day 1 of People and Defense National Conference
Crown Princess Victoria joined her parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, today (8 January) for the People and Defense National Conference (Folk och Försvars rikskonferens). The King and Crown Princess are annual attendants at this conference, but Queen Silvia doesn’t normally accompany them. The conference is once again held at the ski resort Högfjällshotellet in Sälen, Sweden.
This annual conference brings together about 350 participants and hosts 50-60 different speakers for 3 days of discussion, debate, and sharing of knowledge on the world’s security. The focus of the conference is the world's security, Sweden's defense, people's security and society's emergency preparedness.
The conference holds meetings between politicians, those active within organizations in civil society - including youth organizations - and representatives of trade unions, business and government. In addition, to these participants, the conference boasts a growing pool of media coverage. The entire conference is showed as a webcast which can be watched live and streamed afterwards.
In the evening, the three royals attended an official dinner hosted in conjunction with the conference.
Crown Princess Victoria arrived wearing her Tretorn Arch jacket over her By Malina checked suit and Andiata Knit polo. She later changed her shoes to be a pair of af Klingberg booties. She wore her Epoch watch, carried her Hippi Grace New York Bag and styled her hair with a Alexandré de Paris clip.
For the evening reception, Crown Princess Victoria wore a new (past season) dress from Valerie and carried her Rebecca Minkoff Fling Clutch. She accessorized with her Engelbert necklace, Edblad earrings, and wore her Gianvito Rossi Scarlet pumps.
