King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attend jubilee concert in Uppsala Castle
On Friday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended a concert marking the King’s Jubilee at Uppsala Castle. The concert was organized by the Royal Musical Academy and showcased 500 years of royal music.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “You have a rich history that stretches back more than 250 years. We in Sweden can be proud to have the oldest musical academy north of the Alps. When you were founded, it was so that Swedish musicians would receive an education of the same high quality as in other countries. So that they would not have to go abroad to get professional schooling. Today, we are a very successful music country with world-class artists in almost every genre. And also a large width. Often people talk about the Swedish musical wonder and that we are also a country rich in choral activities.”
Queen Silvia wore her Georg et Arend jacket and dress with her Cartier and Engelbert bracelets.
