What people have done for their families, for their local communities and thus for Sweden. In their footsteps, we continue to build. And many new citizens who have contributed to developing the modern society we now have. They deserve respect and gratitude. As Sweden's King, it is my task to both remind of where we come from, and encourage all good progress. As I've said before, looking back sharpens looking forward. Thank you, each and every one of you, for coming here today.”
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also met local associations and actors at various stations in the City Hall Park, including scout corps, e-sports teams, and prominent local sports people.
