Italian State Visit to Norway - Day 1
On Thursday, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter started a two-day state visit to Norway. With King Harald on sick leave, Crown Prince Haakon took over hosting duties with Queen Sonja.
Following the traditional welcome ceremony, official photos were taken and gifts were exchanged.
Crown Prince Haakon and Queen Sonja then joined the President and Ms. Mattarella at a wreath-laying ceremony at Akershus Fortress.
Queen Sonja and Ms. Mattarella also visited the Munch Museum where they saw the collective exhibition Infinite.
Afterward, Crown Prince Haakon, Queen Sonja, the President, and Ms. Mattarella visited the National Museum where they saw several exhibitions including the design exhibition Two queens meet about Queen Maud and Queen Sonja.
In the evening, Crown Prince Haakon and Queen Sonja hosted a state dinner for the Italian President and his daughter. Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Astrid were also in attendance.
For the welcome ceremony, Queen Sonja wore a repeated outfit with her Peter Kaiser shoes and her Chanel bag.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her Natan Couture x Alicia Audrey cape with her Valentino dress, her Christian Louboutin pumps, and her Miu Miu bag. She also wore a Christian Dior scarf and her Paula Rowan gloves.She paired the outfit with Pomellato earrings and rings as well as her Cartier ring.
Queen Sonja then wore a Christian Dior jacket with black trousers, her Brunate shoes, her Chanel bag, and a Salvatore Ferragamo scarf.
In the evening, Queen Sonja wore a repeated Dundas gown with her Whiting & Davis clutch and Queen Josephine’s Diamond Tiara.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore an Emilio Pucci gown by Peter Dundas with her Christian Louboutin pumps, her VBH clutch, and the Amethyst Necklace Tiara.
