Spanish Royals Visit L'Escala
On Wednesday, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia visited the city of L’Escala in connection to the Princess of Girona prize.
In the morning, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia visited the archaeological site of the Greek and Roman city of Empúries in L'Escala. During the tour, they explored the ruins of the ancient city of Neapolis, where they learned about the site's significant historical and heritage features. The sisters also visited an active excavation area to observe students participating in an archaeology course. Their visit concluded at the museum, where they watched a documentary on the landscape's transformation before touring the facility’s collections. Throughout this visit they were accompanied by young participants in the programs of the Princess of Girona Foundation.
Following this, the King and Queen joined the sisters for a meeting with the Princess of Girona Foundation’s (FPdGi) Young Advisory Council at the Archaeological Museum of Empúries. During the session, council members presented their past year's initiatives, which centered on promoting youth role models, supporting emotional well-being, and addressing the impact of new technologies. After reviewing these findings, the Royal Family moved to a viewpoint overlooking the ruins of the Greek city for a group photograph with past award recipients. The day concluded with a luncheon held in the archaeological site's gardens, bringing together the award winners, council members, and the Royal Family.
For her appearance, Queen Letizia opted for a sophisticated Hugo Boss dress, which she styled with a braided nappa leather bag by Massimo Dutti. She complemented the look with Carolina Herrera’s Falling Jasmine stud earrings and a pair of navy wedges from Calzados Picon.
Princess Leonor opted for a sophisticated linen blazer by Mirto, perfectly complemented by a linen pouch from Heimat Atlantica. She completed her ensemble with Calzados Picon wedges, a Moliane ear cuff, and Suma Cruz earrings.
For her look, Infanta Sofia chose a coordinated blouse and trousers from Rivera, paired with comfortable Calzados Picon flat espadrilles and Karen Hallam’s signature ring.
