Queen Mathilde attends symposium on mental health of older adults
On Wednesday, Queen Mathilde attended the 2nd edition of “Her Majesty The Queen’s Symposium” hosted by the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium. This edition focused on the mental health of older adults.
In her speech, Queen Mathilde said: “This symposium should be an opportunity to raise awareness among the various health stakeholders of the specific problem of mental health in the elderly and the need to coordinate care. It must be acknowledged that this dimension is, to date, insufficiently taken into account in the training of doctors, nursing assistants or even within retirement homes. […] The ultimate goal of our discussions is that every older person can continue to enjoy a life of good physical and mental health, contribute to the community, and share love and affection with those around them.”
Queen Mathilde wore her Bernard Depoorter dress with her Armani Privé clutch and her Rolex watch.
