Regal Review: King Felipe and Queen Letizia's Official Visit to NYC - Day 2
On September 23rd, 2014, King Felipe and Queen Letizia spent their second day in New York City. They first attended the opening ceremony of the Climate Summit at the United Nations General Headquarters during which King Felipe made a speech.
Afterward, King Felipe and Queen Letizia met with Spanish officials stationed at the United Nations.
Queen Letizia then had meetings with the Executive Director of UNICEF, Anthony Lake, the Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Margaret Chan, and the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), José Graziano da Silva.
King Felipe met with several Heads of State such as the President of the United States, Barack Obama, the President of Tunisia, Moncef Marzouki, and the President of South Korea, Park Geun-Hye.
In the evening, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the official reception hosted by the President of the United States of America Barack Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama.
Queen Letizia first wore a Felipe Varela pewter suit with Magrit pumps and a Felipe Varela clutch.
In the evening, Queen Letizia wore a Felipe Varela beaded off-the-shoulder dress with Magrit black satin sandals.
