King Frederik and Queen Mary's official visit to Greenland - Day 6

On Thursday, King Frederik and Queen Mary spent their sixth day in Greenland with Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. The family arrived in Nuuk in the morning on the Royal Ship Dannebrog.

They first attended an official reception at the Town Hall during which King Frederik and Queen Mary received the town’s official gift, an ornate walrus skull made by the artist Kim Kleist-Eriksen. Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine also helped light a traditional Greenlandic linden lamp.

Afterward, the family visited Nuuk's new school, Aturfik Inussuk, which will officially open for the 2024-2025 school year.

In the afternoon, King Frederik and Queen Mary visited Nuuk’s new airport where they were briefed on the municipality’s new capital strategy.

King Frederik and Queen Mary then visited a workshop where artists are working on a memorial stone for the polar explorer Arnarulunnguaq. As the only female polar explorer, she took part in the famous 5th Thule expedition in the period from 1921 to 1924.

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended an official dinner hosted by the Naalakkersuisut at Kulturhuset Katuaq.

Queen Mary first wore the Greenlandic national costume.

Prince Vincent wore a coat that was first worn by his brother Crown Prince Christian with his RM Willams boots.

Princess Josephine wore her mother’s Massimo Dutti and Uniqlo coats with her mother’s Polo Ralph Lauren jumper and her mother’s Hugo Boss skirt.

Queen Mary then wore a repeated coat with her Hugo Boss blouse, her Joseph trousers, and her Ralph Lauren belt. She paired the outfit with her Prada ankle boots and the bag from the Greenlandic national costume. She also wore her Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings.

In the evening, Queen Mary wore a Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman gown with her Manolo Blahnik pumps and her Judith Leiber clutch. She also wore her Ole Lynggaard earrings and her Dulong Fine Jewelry bracelets.
