The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh visit Japan - Day 2

On Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh spent their second day in Japan.

The Duchess of Edinburgh first visited the Ukraine Mental Health Exchange Center, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting Ukrainian refugees and evacuees in Japan. She spent time with Ukrainian refugees to hear more about their stories and their lives in Japan. She also took part in a calligraphy workshop.

Afterward, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Nezu Museum which showcases the private collection of pre-modern Japanese and East Asian art assembled by Nezu Kaichirō. The Duchess of Edinburgh also met with the head of the museum, Koichi Nezu, and his wife, Mihoko, and toured the gardens.

The Duchess of Edinburgh then visited Miraikan, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. The museum was established by Japan's Science and Technology Agency and features exhibitions on space, the global environment, and robotics, as well as offering experience-based classes and talks.

The Duchess of Edinburgh also met with the director of the Museum, Chieko Asakawa, who developed the first digital braille system for Japanese, to discuss her experiences of blindness. The Duchess of Edinburgh is a Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

The Duchess of Edinburgh first wore her Suzannah dress with repeated pumps and her Sophie Habsburg clutch. She paired the outfit with her Giulia Barela earrings, her Asprey London and Giulia Barela bracelets, and her Giulia Barela ring.

Afterward, the Duchess of Edinburgh wore a Suzannah printed dress with her Jimmy Choo pumps and her Sophie Habsburg clutch. She paired the outfit with the same jewels as earlier in the day.
