King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attend Belém Climate Summit
On Thursday and Friday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the Belém Climate Summit in Brazil ahead of the COP30 Conference. On Thursday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the opening ceremony of the Summit.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “International collaboration is crucial. Pollution and climate change respect no borders, as we know. Cooperation between nations is the only path towards sustainable development and long-term prosperity. Climate action is the investment opportunity we should all embrace. Because the green transition drives economic growth, builds the workforce for the future, and keeps our industries competitive.”
Afterward, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia met with the Prince of Wales who was also attending the summit following his Earthshot Prize Ceremony, which was held in Rio de Janeiro earlier this week.
Queen Silvia also gave an interview to Globo News during the summit.
On Friday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia first attended the thematic session focusing on energy transition.
Afterward, the Royal Couple attended a lunch hosted by the Governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho. During the lunch, Queen Silvia highlighted the Barnahus in the form of a boat which was created by the State of Pará with the help of the World Childhood Foundation.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also visited the Museu Goeldi to see the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Amazon exhibition and the Museu das Amazônias to see the Ajuri exhibition and the Amazonia exhibition.
On Thursday, Queen Silvia wore her Weill jacket with her Boutique Moschino dress, repeated burdungy pumps, and her Louis Vuitton bag. She also wore her Cartier and Engelbert Stockholm bracelets.
