The event marked the conclusion of the Junior Non-Commissioned Officer’s Cadre which was hosted and run by 5 RIFLES at Ward Barracks, Bulford. In addition to Duchess of Edinburgh, the parade was attended by The Rifles Colonel Commandant. Riflemen from sister battalions also participated and as a result are now eligible for promotion to Lance Corporal. The cadre included rigorous exercises, including the Brecon training area, where the troops faced tough weather conditions and were tested on leadership, navigation, orders, and decision-making under pressure. The top performing Rifleman was honoured with the Cadre Cane.
