King Frederik and Queen Mary visit the Faroe Islands - Day 1

On Wednesday, King Frederik and Queen Mary started their three-day official visit to the Faroe Islands. They are joined by Princess Josephine.

They were officially welcomed in Tórshavn before attending an official reception at Tinganes and visiting the Parliament. They also attended a reception at Tórshavnar Municipality.

In the afternoon, King Frederik and Queen Mary visited Tjarnir, a new multi-purpose hall for Faroese people of all ages. Queen Mary also visited Glyvra Skúli School, which works with the Mary Foundation's "Free from Bullying" program.

In the evening, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended an official gala dinner at Hotel Føroyar.

Queen Mary wore her Faroese traditional costume with her Gianvito Rossi ankle boots and her Sophie Bille Brahe earrings.

In the evening, Queen Mary wore her traditional costume with Manolo Blahnik pumps and her Bottega Veneta clutch. She also wore her Ellen Hunter hair comb.

Princess Josephine wore her Massimo Dutti coat with grey trousers.
