Queen Mary takes part in Lift event with Mary Fonden
On Tuesday, Queen Mary took part in the Lift event with Mary Fonden in Esbjerg. Lift is an initiative that aims to ensure that all young people who feel very lonely are seen and offered help that is tailored to the individual's unique needs.
She first visited the Esbjerg Gymnasium, where she met with young people who have participated in Lift. She also visited the Youth Center which helps children and young people in need of individual support and guidance.
Queen Mary also visited Platformen, a cultural and community center in Esbjerg, where an event focusing on young people and loneliness took place. In her opening speech, Queen Mary said: “From the beginning, we have worked based on two clear visions: Firstly, the number must go down. Significantly fewer young people must experience long-term loneliness. Secondly, young people who carry this feeling around must know that there is help available – and feel that they are not alone. Because we know that the first step towards help is often the hardest. That is why it is a core value at Lift that we reach out to the young person.“
Queen Mary wore her Harris Wharf London brown jacket with an Alice + Olivia jumper and grey trousers, which appear to be from Harris Wharf London. She paired the outfit with black boots and her Decadent Copenhagen bag. She also wore her Gucci glasses.
