Queen Silvia visits Germany
This week, Queen Silvia visited Germany to attend several engagements to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Mentor Foundation Germany. She was accompanied by Countess Bettina Bernadotte, CEO of the Mentor Foundation Germany.
On Wednesday evening, Queen Silvia attended the stage production "wir_jetzt_hier" at the Bodenseeforum in Konstanz. The evening kicked off the festivities celebrating the Mentor Foundation Germany.
On Thursday, Queen Silvia attended the official 10th anniversary meeting of the Foundation. She met with numerous guests from politics, business, and society, and young people supported by the Foundation.
Queen Silvia also visited Mainau Castle, where she signed the Golden Book of the City of Constance.
Later in the day, Queen Silvia presented the Mentor Future Prize to Monika Brandt for her many years of dedication and exceptionally reliable support.
On Friday, Queen Silvia traveled to Düsseldorf to attend more engagements. She was first received by the Mayor of Düsseldorf at the Town Hall.
She then visited Luisen-Gymnasium to inaugurate the school's new premises. The Queen studied in the old school building of Luisen-Gymnasium.
She also visited Kinderhospiz Regenbogenland, where she heard more about the children's and youth hospice's care for children and young people who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or life-shortening illness.
In the evening, Queen Silvia received the Preis für Kindeswohl 2026 award in recognition of her many years of work for the safety and rights of children. The award is sponsored by the Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Regenbogenland Foundation and the Düsseldorfer Jonges association.
