Queen Letizia attends World Rare Diseases Day event
On Tuesday, Queen Letizia attended an event hosted by the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) to mark World Rare Diseases Day in Castellon de la Plana. The event was organized as part of the campaign "Because every person matters," which aims to guarantee equity in access to social and health resources for those living with these pathologies.
In her speech, Queen Letizia said: “We are here in Castellón today, on this World Rare Disease Day, because every person matters. […] The person who cares, who researches, who contributes, who helps, who makes decisions in public health policy matters. The people in institutions, in the media, in government, in patient and family associations, in the private sector, and in the pharmaceutical industry matter. […] And here today we all agree on the essential nature of equity in treatment, research, and diagnosis, because when equity exists, inclusion becomes part of the structure. And when inclusion becomes structural, rights are recognized, and the value of every life is acknowledged.”
During the event, Queen Letizia presented the FEDER 2026 Awards to Teresa Navarro Ferreros, the Royal and Illustrious Board of Ladies of Honor and Merit, the Carrefour Solidarity Foundation, and the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital of Valencia.
Queen Letizia wore her Paul Smith suit with her Hugo Boss blouse. She paired the outfit with Magrit pumps. She also wore her Gold & Roses earrings and her Coreterno ring.
