Queen Silvia and Princess Sofia attend Global Child Forum Action Lab
Today Queen Silvia and Princess Sofia attended the digital Global Child Forum Action Lab. The Global Child Forum was created by the Royal Family in 2009 and is an independent platform that brings together world-leading stakeholders for in-depth dialogue and increased knowledge about children's rights.

Today’s Action Lab was the final one organized by the Global Child Forum and focused on how children's rights can be protected online while new and innovative digital services can emerge.

In her opening speech, Princess Sofia said: “On the one hand, the internet provides children and youth with so much that is positive: access to educational opportunities, channels to express themselves, a chance to connect with others. On the other hand, as we are all aware, life online comes with a lot of risks.”
Queen Silvia ended the forum with a speech as well in which she reflected on the four Action Lab organized by the Global Child Forum this autumn. She said: “Throughout the series we have heard diverse voices - from Dr David Boyd, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and the Environment, to 16-year-old Lauren Wright, a climate activist from Canada. We have also had the pleasure of hearing from academics , researchers, legal experts, and, of course, the business sector. What this diverse showcase of speakers illustrates, is that it takes all parts of society to respect and support children's rights. "
