Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent the afternoon in Wales as they visited Mumbles and Port Talbot.

Their first event of the day was at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Lifeboat station to learn about the  24-hour rescue service. They boarded the lifeboat and had the opportunity to speak with the crew about day-to-day life as part of a team that helps those facing difficulties at sea.  They also met volunteers and watched a training exercise.

Afterward, they visited Joe’s ice cream parlour where the Duchess of Cambridge had the opportunity to discuss her 5 Big Questions survey. According to Kensington Palace, the family-run business has been serving gelato to local residents since Joe Cascarini arrived from Italy in the early 1900s.

Then, they visited Tata Steel in Port Talbot - the UK's largest steel plant which has been operating on the site for over one hundred years - to meet with employees and their families. The plant provides over 4,000 jobs to members of the local community. They also visited their Training Academy.

To end the day, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Bulldogs Development Centre, which helps to support young people in the community who may have been affected by adverse childhood experiences and mental health issues by giving them a sense of belonging through fitness and boxing. The event coincides with Children's Mental Health Week 2020.

Kate wore a new Hobbs coat with a new red Zara knit dress and a Beulah London scarf. She paired the outfit with her Stuart Weitzman boots, Mulberry bag, Asprey London earrings, and Daniella Draper necklace.
