Regal Review: The Wedding of Prince Albert & Princess Charlene - Civil Wedding

On July 1st, 2011, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene’s civil wedding ceremony took place in Monaco.

The ceremony took place in the Throne’s Room of the Princely Palace. It was presided by Philippe Narmino, Director of Judicial Services and president of the Council of State. After the ceremony, Charlene Wittstock became Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco.

Following the ceremony, Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, and their families appeared on the balconies of the Palace to greet the crowd.

Afterward, the Princely family joined the Monégasque people in the Palace Square where a buffet of Monégasque and South African food had been prepared. Both the Mayor of Monaco and Prince Albert made speeches.

Princess Charlene wore a strapless blue jumpsuit made of a lace bustier and pleated palazzo trousers with a blue blazer by Karl Lagerfeld. She also wore diamond stud earrings by Tabbah.

Princess Caroline wore a blue Chanel midi dress with flat sandals and a large hat. Princess Stéphanie wore a brown sleeveless knee-length dress with a lace bolero and matching accessories.
