Danish Royal family attends Prince Christian's confirmation
This morning, Prince Christian was confirmed at Fredensborg Palace Church with his grandmother, parents, and siblings in attendance. The confirmation was postponed last year because of the pandemic and today’s ceremony was scaled down to respect the current guidelines in Denmark.
Prince Christian’s godparents are Prince Joachim, Crown Princess Victoria, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Crown Prince Pavlos, Jane Stephens, Jeppe Handwerk, and Hamish Campbell. Sadly, all family members and godparents living abroad couldn’t attend the confirmation so it is assumed Jeppe Handwerk was his only godparent in attendance. The service was officiated by Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen.
After the ceremony, Prince Christian and his family posed outside for the press and answered questions.
Official photos of Prince Christian and his family were taken by Franne Voigt and released in the afternoon. The photos were taken in their home Kancellihuset before the ceremony.
The Court also shared official photos taken after the ceremony in the Garden Hall of Fredensborg Castle.
Prince Christian wore a suit by Loro Piana for his big day. His grandmother wore a red coat over a floral dress with a red hat by Mathilde Førster.
Crown Princess Mary wore a new dress by Iris & Ink with her Gianvito Rossi nude pumps and Prada navy satin clutch. She also wore a Susanne Juul navy hairpiece and the Connaught Sapphire brooch which was gifted to her by Queen Margrethe after Prince Christian’s birth and which she wore at his christening. Her earrings are flower diamond earrings purchased at Bruun Rasmussen Auction and she wore her Cartier bracelet.
Princess Isabella wore a new pantsuit by InWear with a blue top and nude suede sandals. She paired the outfit with an Hugo Boss clutch and a Dulong necklace, both belonging to her mother.
Princess Josephine wore a Pili Carrera fringe jacket and matching bag (with thanks to Nathalie). She also wore a Zadig & Voltaire top with a navy polka dot skirt - which might belong to her older sister - and Manuela de Juan shoes.
