The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official visit to Scotland - Day 2
Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent their second joint day in Scotland undertaking engagements in Orkney.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first officially opened the Balfour hospital which is replacing the 90-year-old community hospital and allows the repatriation of many NHS services to Orkney from the mainland.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also met with the hospital’s staff to discuss the challenges caused by the pandemic.
Afterward, the couple visited the European Marine Energy Center which allows developers to “test full-scale grid-connected prototype devices in unrivaled wave and tidal conditions.” During the visit, the couple blessed the Orbital Marine Power tidal energy turbine.
Outside the center, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met children and answered their questions.
For the first engagement, the Duchess of Cambridge wore her Massimo Dutti coat over a Temperley London knit top (with thanks to Emily Collins) and new trousers. She also wore new Emmy shoes with the matching clutch. Kate also wore the Hamilton & Inches earrings she debuted yesterday and her D C Dalgliesh Strathearn tartan scarf.
She then changed into her Seeland Woodcock jacket which she wore over her Seeland Hawker jacket. Underneath she wore a new green Holland Cooper jumper (with thanks to Middleton Maven) over a new Brora blouse (with thanks to Georgie’s Mum) and jeans. She also wore her See by Chloé boots, Amaia face mask, and Hamilton & Inches earrings.
