Queen Letizia attends closing ceremony of “Santander WomenNOW Summit"
Today, Queen Letizia attended the closing ceremony of the third edition of the “Santander WomenNOW Summit”, organized by Vocento to discuss equality and female leadership. Queen Letizia also chairs the Santander WomenNOW 2021 Honor Committee.
The Santander WomenNOW summit was created with the aim of offering the keys to building the world we dream of. This year’s edition was titled “The world we want”. During the closing ceremony, Queen Letizia attended a lecture “A Future for women” by Kathleen Kennedy, the executive director of Retirement Security for All and a professor at Georgetown University.
In her speech, Queen Letizia addressed the recent cases of murdered minors in Spain - including two little girls and a teenage girl - saying: “It is difficult this morning to avoid the expression of pain and sadness over the murder of minors, according to the news that has hit us in the last hours. I am referring to the murdered girls in Tenerife and the 17 years old murdered in a Sevillian town. I don't think there is anyone this morning who does not try to put themselves in the shoes of all the people who love these girls, these murdered minors”
