Royal Recap: May 31st - June 6th

Welcome to this week’s Royal Recap where we’ll take a look at the events we weren’t able to cover fully this week!

On Tuesday, Queen Mathilde attended the awards ceremony of the 2021 Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition as she handed out the Queen Mathilde Prize to the first winner, French pianist Jonathan Fournel.

Queen Mathilde wore a new Natan Couture dress with her Emporio Armani blush pink pumps and her Rolex watch.

On Wednesday, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited Vivalia’s Ardennes Hospital Center CHA to meet with young patients for whom the CHA is providing classes. They also took part in a roundtable discussion about the challenges of the COVID-19 with the staff and former COVID-19 patients who were treated by the CHA.

Queen Mathilde wore a new Esmeralda Ammoun top with a matching face mask (with thanks to ModeKoninginMathilde), a new Christian Dior bag, and her Rolex watch.

On Thursday, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde met with the President and First Lady of Tunisia at the Royal Palace.

Queen Mathilde wore her Natan dress and matching mask with her Rolex watch.

On Friday, Queen Mathilde visited the VIVES University of Applied Sciences campus to meet with nursing students who worked at hospitals during the pandemic to hear more about their experiences and the pandemic’s impact on their education. Queen Mathilde also visited two simulation rooms during her visit.

Queen Mathilde wore a new Natan burgundy top with Natan printed trousers and her Rolex watch.


On Monday, Queen Silvia gave an introductory speech at a webinar on anti-doping, arranged by Karolinska Institutet.

Queen Silvia wore her Zara tweed jacket.

On Tuesday, King Carl-Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended a concert to inaugurate the Stockholm Early Music Festival's twentieth edition in the German Church, Gamla stan, Stockholm.

Queen Silvia wore her Georg et Arend outfit with Marzio two-tone shoes.


On Wednesday, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel hosted several digital meetings with representatives of Swedish municipalities to learn more about their handling of the pandemic.

On Thursday, King Carl-Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, and Prince Daniel had a digital meeting with the Swedish Public Health Agency to learn more about the current spread of the virus in the country as well as the vaccination effort.

It is hard to say for sure but Crown Princess Victoria might have been wearing her By Malina ‘Gio’ dress.


On Tuesday, Prince Albert, Prince Jacques, and Princess Gabriella attended the launch of “Oceano Pour Tous” of the Oceanographic Museum which aims to help the children of nearby French towns that suffered from floods last year.

Prince Jacques wore an Il Gufo blazer with a white polo, blue trousers, and Jacadi trainers. Princess Gabriella wore a Monnalisa dress (with thanks to The Royal Couturier) and her Baby Dior ballet flats.

On Thursday, Prince Albert, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella attended the Feast of Corpus Christi procession from the balcony of the Palace.

On Saturday, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie went to the “Tramsschapp” cultural center for the opening of the “Think Ahead” exhibition. The project was created to mark the 125th anniversary of the Lycée des Arts et Métiers and was carried out by the students of the school using their skills acquired, among other things in the fields of photography, film, and multimedia.

Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a new Boden dress (with thanks to Innominate_93) with new Sergio Rossi red suede pumps and her LK Bennett blue clutch.
