King Felipe and Queen Letizia preside over opening ceremony of the Jacobean Year 2021-2022

Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia presided over the solemn opening ceremony of the Jacobean Year 2021-2022 in Roncesvalles. The Jacobean Year is marked on the years in which the feast of Santiago Apóstol, July 25, falls on a Sunday.

Before the solemn ceremony, the royal couple walked from the section of the Camino de Santiago to the urban complex of Orreaga - Roncesvalles and next to the Sancti Spiritus chapel, an old pilgrim cemetery.

Afterward, King Felipe and Queen Letizia went to the Collegiate Church of Santa María de Roncesvalles to attend the official ceremony. After the ceremony, the couple visited the tomb of King Sancho VII of Navarra where they laid a wreath.

Queen Letizia wore her Hugo Boss trench coat over a white shirt and beige Massimo Dutti trousers (with thanks to @royalfashionpolice) as well as her Karen Hallam gold ring. She also wore new Panama Jack sneakers before changing into new wedges.
