King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attend Prinsjesdag 2021

Today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended Prinsjesdag 2020 alongside Prince Constantjin and Princess Laurentien. During Prinsjesdag, King Willem-Alexander reads the ‘Speech from the Throne’, written jointly by the Ministers and Secretaries of State.

Just like last year, the ceremony was scaled down and took place at the Grote Kerk instead of the Ridderzaal with fewer people in attendance. The royal family arrived by car instead of arriving in a carriage and they also didn't appear on the balcony of Noordeinde Palace to prevent crowds from gathering.

Queen Maxima wore a new Natan Couture outfit with a new Oscar de la Renta clutch (with thanks to ModeKoninginMaxima) and her Natan orange pumps.

Princess Laurentien wore a new Hardies Couture gown with an Evelien Gentis headpiece (with thanks to ModeKoningingMaxima).
