Queen Maxima opens the 2021-2022 MBO School Year

Today, Queen Maxima officially opened the 2021-2022 MBO School Year in Houten. MBO schools provide secondary vocational education to more than 500000 students in The Netherlands.

The theme of the opening was 'entrepreneurship towards a better future' and Queen Maxima had the opportunity to meet with staff and students.

Queen Maxima also made a speech during the event in which she said: “An MBO student is someone who can continue to respond flexibly and enterprisingly to changes. And this is not only about knowledge and qualifications, but also about skills. Can you handle unexpected situations? Can you empathize with others? Can you work well together? Can you think of alternative solutions if something doesn't work? Do you see opportunities to do things better? Can you handle money well and bear financial responsibility? Are you creative? All those skills are worth gold, in any job.”

Queen Maxima wore a repeated white top and navy skirt with her navy suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and a matching navy clutch. She also wore her Prada shell earrings.
