The Countess of Wessex visits the Democratic Republic of the Congo - Days 4 & 5
The Countess of Wessex spent the end of the week in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as she continued her official visit to the country.
On Thursday, the Countess of Wessex first attended a round table with members of the Congolese government to discuss the challenges of addressing conflict-related sexual violence.
She then attended a reception for organizations working to uphold and promote the rights and opportunities of women and girls. In her speech in French, she said: “We all have a part to play if we are to ever realize our shared vision for a future in which sexual violence is no longer a weapon of war. It is only by working together that we can put an end to this most tragic legacy of conflict, and there is much work still to be done.”
Afterward, the Countess of Wessex met with the President and First Lady of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
On Friday, the Countess of Wessex visited the British Embassy to meet the expert and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office’s team.
On Thursday, The Countess of Wessex first wore her ME + EM dress with her Penelope Chilvers shoes and her Sophie Habsburg bag. She paired the outfit with her Felt bracelet and her Patrick Mavros necklace.
She then wore a new dress with her Paule Ka shrug, her Chloé shoes, and a Sophie Habsburg clutch. She also wore her Lucia Odescalchi earrings and her Felt bracelet.
On Friday, The Countess of Wessex wore her Eleventy blazer with a brown top, white jeans, and her Penelope Chilvers shoes. She also wore her Felt bracelet.
