The Earl and Countess of Wessex's Caribbean Tour - Day 2
On Saturday, the Earl and Countess of Wessex spent their second day in the Caribbean as part of their tour marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Tour.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex arrived in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and they were welcomed at Argyle International Airport by Dame Susan Dougan, the Governor-General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Afterward, the Earl of Wessex met athletes who will take part in the Commonwealth Games this summer in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, the Countess of Wessex visited St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College where she watched a performance by La Gracia Dance Company and met local women’s groups to hear more about the response to the eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex then went to the Botanical Gardens where they had the opportunity to see the Amazona guildingii, St Vincent’s national bird. They also planted a tree to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.
The couple’s last event was a reception at Government House during which they presented 13 Duke of Edinburgh’s International Gold Awards.
The Countess of Wessex wore a new Soler dress (with thanks to Innominae_93) with her Penelope Chilvers wedges and her Sophie Habsburg bag. Later in the day, she changed into her Penelope Chilvers white espadrilles. She paired the outfit with her Heavenly Necklaces earrings, her Halcyon Days bracelets, and her Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses.
