Swedish Royal Family Gather's for King's 76th Birthday
Today King Carl XVI Gustaf celebrated his 76th Birthday with his family at the Royal Palace Courtyard in Stockholm.
At noon, the King and Prince Carl Philip were present in the courtyard of the Royal Palace to receive the high guard. The king then, along with Prince Carl Philip, entered the High Guard flight for the chief commander's reception.
During this, the Queen, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Princess Sofia, and Prince Gabriel watched from the windows of the palace.
The grandchildren were observed enjoying the music provided by the Army and Navy Band for the audience while her grandfather collected flowers from the children who had come to wish him congratulations on his birthday.
Following collecting flowers from the children, the King made his way back inside the palace to do one final wave from the window before continuing his birthday celebrations this afternoon and evening in private with family and friends.
Princess Madeleine could not attend the festivities, but the court said she would congratulate her father digitally later in the day.
Queen Silvia wore an old blue coat with a white scarf. She accessorized with multi-color pearl and diamond drop earrings, her Engelbert Knot bracelet and Cartier Love Bracelet.
Crown Princess Victoria wore her By Malina Sadie dress under a new blue coat from Andiata. She accessorized with her Dulong Fine Jewelry Esme hoops and Bell Pendants in Guava Quartz.
Princess Estelle wore her Bonpoint Wool Coat (a hand-me-down from Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway) over a floral outfit. She also debuted her new glasses for the first time publicly. Prince Oscar wore a navy suit jacket with matching tie.
Princess Sofia wore a new light blue Phillys coat from Andiata. She accessorized with her Shooting Star earrings and pearl pendants from Ole Lynggaard.
Prince Gabriel joined the balcony this year, repeating his outfit from his little brother’s christening last August. He wore a white button down shirt with his Mayoral Blazer.
