King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visit Duin- en Bollenstreek Region
Today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Duin- en Bollenstreek Region in South Holland.
In Lisse, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Lisse Football Club where they met with the Presidents of the seven clubs from the region who play at the amateur level to discuss the sense of community they represent.
The Royal Couple then traveled to Teylingen where they toured a company focusing on bulb cultivation.
In Hillegom, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima met an entrepreneur who unites the bulb fields with tourism. They took a stroll in a special tulip field that has been created with a walking path for tourists to avoid the regular tulip fields from being overburdened.
In Katwijk, they visited a beach house and met with representatives from the tourism sector in the region to discuss the importance of tourism for the region.
The couple’s last stop of the day was in Noordwijk where they visited Space Business Innovation Centre (SBIC) where a Space Campus is being developed.
During their visit, they met with startups working on applications of space knowledge and technology in other sectors such as agriculture, safety, and healthcare.
Finally, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima also met with representatives from the space cluster to hear more about how the campus development can be stimulated and further strengthened.
Queen Maxima wore her Natan navy coat with a new Oscar de la Renta dress (with thanks to ModeKoninginMaxima). She paired the outfit with her Gianvito Rossi pumps, her Natan clutch, and a Bettina Thomas hat.
