Queen Letizia attends World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day event

Today, Queen Letizia attended an event marking World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day event in Valencia.

During the event, Queen Letizia delivered the 2022 Spanish Red Cross Gold Medals. Some of the recipients are wheelchair basketball player Nilofar Bayat who fled Afghanistan, the head of the Pediatric Palliative Care section of the Niño Jesús University Children's Hospital, and the President of SERES among others.

In her speech, Queen Letizia said: “We are here to help you, is the phrase that jumps out when you open the website of this entity, we are here to help you. Hard and accredited work, hard work as always, but more intense in recent years, has made the Red Cross continue to grow, to be prepared, and it also reflects the good part of the human being: empathy, understanding, unity, love, help, awareness of the other. Humans caring for other humans.”

Queen Letizia wore a Cayro dress with her Carolina Herrera pumps and bag. She paired the outfit with CXC earrings (with thanks to Nuria) and her Karen Hallam ring.
