Princess Madeleine visits Frankfurt with the World Childhood Foundation
On Thursday, Princess Madeleine was in Frankfurt with the World Childhood Foundation in her role as Deputy Honorary Chair.
Princess Madeleine first visited the University Hospital Frankfurt where a former hospital building is being converted into a Childhood House, which is planned to be completed in 2023.
Princess Madeleine toured the building and learned more about the purpose of the House and the work that is already being done today.
After her visit, Princess Madeleine symbolically gifted a small wooden toy house to the Childhood Team and the doctors.
Princess Madeleine then visited an outpatient department for children and met doctors who told her about their work and experiences.
About her visit, Princess Madeleine said: “Ever since my mother, Queen Silvia of Sweden, founded Childhood in 1999, the foundation follows a clear vision: to create a world in which all children are free from violence, sexual abuse, and exploitation. We have contributed to putting child sexual violence on the global agenda. What used to be an invisible, silent, and all too often denied problem is now something we do recognize and ask to end together.”
She continued: “It makes me proud to see how quickly the Childhood House concept has caught on and the impact it has on child protection in Germany. It warms my heart to know that the children are the focus here and that they are receiving the support they are entitled to.”
Princess Madeleine also attended a reception at the Union International Club organized by Childhood Germany.
Princess Madeleine first wore a new MISA dress with her Veronica Beard blazer, her Chloé sneakers, and her Valentino bag. She paired the outfit with an Ebba Brahe necklace, her Cartier bracelet, and her Rolex watch.
Princess Madeleine then changed into a new MISA floral printed dress with Alaia sandals and her Ebba Brahe necklace.
