Spanish State Visit to Denmark - Day 2

On Tuesday, King Felipe and Queen Letizia spent their second day in Denmark. They first joined Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary at the Kastellet where they laid a wreath in tribute to soldiers who lost their lives.

The Royal Couple and the Crown Prince Couple then went to City Hall where they attended a reception with Queen Margrethe and Copenhagen’s Mayor.

Afterward, they visited the University of Copenhagen where they saw several Spanish documents and met with Spanish academics and researchers from different Danish universities.

In the afternoon, Crown Princess Mary and Queen Letizia visited Rigshospitalet where they saw the construction works of the Mary Elisabeth Hospital, the first children's hospital in Denmark.

In the evening, King Felipe and Queen Letizia and the Danish Royal Family inaugurated the exhibition “Joaquín Sorolla: Light in Motion” at the Glyptotek. The exhibition consists of 17 works by Joaquín Sorolla, from the collection of the Sorolla Museum in Madrid.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia then hosted a dinner and reception for Queen Margrethe, the Crown Prince Couple, and Princess Benedikte.

In his speech, King Felipe said: “ Over these past two days, we have witnessed the extraordinary vitality of your country, the enormous kindness of its people, and, of course, the strength of past and present ties between us, which −I am certain− will continue to bind us and help us sail into the future.”


Queen Letizia first wore her Carolina Herrera coat with a Dándara dress, Lodi pumps, and her Furla bag. She also wore Queen Sofia’s earrings and her Coreterno ring.

Queen Margrethe wore a black outfit with her Georg Jensen brooch.

Crown Princess Mary wore her Joseph coat with her RED Valentino top and her Dolce & Gabbana skirt. She paired the outfit with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and a Massimo Dutti bag. She also wore her Ole Lynggaard earrings and her Ole Lynggaard ring.

In the evening, Queen Letizia wore her Mango coat with a Rotate Birger Christensen dress, her Manolo Blahnik pumps, and her Lambertson Truex clutch.

Crown Princess Mary wore a black top with her H&M Conscious skirt and her Gianvito Rossi pumps. She also wore Ole Lynggaard earrings, her Halberstadt necklace, and her Ole Lynggaard ring.

Princess Benedikte wore a Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman dress.
