French State Visit to the Netherlands - Day 1

On Tuesday, President Macron of France and his wife started a two-day state visit to The Netherlands. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima officially welcomed the Presidential Couple at Dam Square in Amsterdam.

In the evening, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima hosted a State Dinner for the President and the First Lady at the Royal Palace. Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien also attended.

King Willem-Alexander made a speech in French in which he said: “Mr. President, this evening we are celebrating our friendship with you and all the French people. Not only as European partners but also as direct neighbors. As you know, we share a border between Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten, in the Caribbean. I am convinced that your visit will further strengthen our relations. We wish the French Republic all the best.”

For the welcome ceremony, Queen Maxima wore a Natan outfit with her Gianvito Rossi pumps.

For the State Dinner, Queen Maxima wore a Claes Iversen gown (with thanks to ModeKoninginMaxima) with her Valentino clutch and the Antique Pearl Tiara.

When arriving at the Palace ahead of the State Dinner, Princess Laurentien wore a red coat with a red shirt and her Maliparmi trousers. She paired the outfit with Unisa shoes and a Disney store bag.

For the State Dinner, Princess Laurentien wore her Hardies Couture gown with the Laurel Wreath Tiara.
