On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales visited textile manufacturers in Leeds and Lancaster to learn more about the heritage of the industry and how vital it is to the UK economy.
She first visited AW Hainsworth in Leeds where she met the company’s employees and apprentices. The Princess of Wales’ paternal ancestors ran William Lupton & Co. in Leeds and sold the company to AW Hainsworth.
Afterward, the Princess of Wales visited Standfast & Barracks in Lancaster to learn more about the company’s history and their printing techniques.
