The Duchess of Edinburgh marks 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino

This weekend, the Duchess of Edinburgh was in Italy on behalf of the King to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino. On Saturday, the Duchess of Edinburg first visited the Monte Cassino Abbey.

She then attended a ceremony held at the Polish Memorial marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Battle of Monte Cassino.

On Sunday, the Duchess of Edinburgh attended the New Zealand ceremony marking the anniversary. The Duchess of Edinburgh delivered a message from The King during the ceremony.
