Danish State Visit to Latvia - Day 1

On Tuesday, King Frederik and Queen Mary started a two-day state visit to Latvia.

They were first officially welcomed by the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, at Riga Castle before laying flowers at the Freedom Monument. The Royal Couple then visited the Parliament, where Speaker of the Parliament Daiga Mieriņa held an official lunch.

In the afternoon, King Frederik and Queen Mary met with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa before visiting the Latvian Occupation Museum, which depicts the history of Latvia under the Soviet and German regimes from 1940 to 1991. They also visited the Latvian Academy of Culture, located in the former Scandinavian tobacco factory “Tabakas fabrika”.

King Frederik and Queen Mary then received a guided city tour of part of Riga's Art Nouveau district with a focus on the city's unique architectural masterpieces.

In the evening, the President of Latvia hosted a gala dinner in honor of King Frederik and Queen Mary at Riga Castle.

Queen Mary first wore her Soeren Le Schmidt dress with her Prada pumps and her Quidam Clutch. She paired the outfit with her Katrin Cecilia Jacobsen headband and her Max Mara belt. Later in the day, she wore a repeated black coat and her Gianvito Rossi boots.

In the evening, Queen Mary wore her Soeren Le Schmidt gown with her Sergio Rossi clutch. She wore her Ruby & Diamond Necklace Tiara.
