German State Visit to Spain - Day 1

On Wednesday, the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and his wife started a three-day State Visit to Spain. They were officially welcomed at the Royal Palace by King Felipe and Queen Letizia.

Afterward, Queen Letizia and the First Lady, Elke Büdenbender, took part in a working meeting in the Gallery of Royal Collections on women and equality in Spain.

In the evening, King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted a gala dinner for the Presidential Couple at the Royal Palace.

In his speech, King Felipe said: “Europe unites us. We are bound together by the ideals of freedom, democracy, social justice, and respect for human dignity. Germany accompanied us on our journey back to Europe and in the consolidation of our democracy. And Spain was a great supporter of German reunification, a key moment in the history of the European Union. We are two countries faithful to our values, aware of the moral imperatives of our time. And we know that looking to the past with humility, with a sense of history, is a necessary exercise.”

Queen Letizia first wore her Carolina Herrera cape with her The 2nd Skin Co dress. She paired the outfit with her Magrit pumps and her Magrit clutch. She also wore her Dime Que Me Quieres earrings and her Coreterno ring.

In the evening, Queen Letizia wore a Carolina Herrera gown with Martinelli x Redondo Brand sandals and her Coreterno ring. She also wore the Cartier Pearl & Diamond Tiara.
